Altamira Paths (Caminos de Altamira)

Rural tourism in Uco Valley

Caminos de Altamira (Altamira Paths) is a product of rural tourism, to explore the area La Consulta, San Carlos in the Uco Valley , Mendoza. It is an oasis irrigated by the river Tunuyán and 1,000 mts altitud, in front of the Andes. A place to enjoy the stunning mountain views, with privileged surrundings for growing fine vines, fruits and vegetables. This environment is a place of exceptional scenic view and high productive relevance.

The project consists of a group of rural residents who built a product that gives visitors a true picture of the local culture. They provide:

Accommodation in cottages, the neighbors have conditioned their homes for hosting, but without losing their traditional ways.

Gastronomy: Challa, meat cooked in a pot, Chivo, Pies and Sopaipillas; accompanied by tasty fruits and excellent wines of the area.

Agricultural activities such as irrigation, tie plants, pruning and harvest cherries, peaches, pears, apples and grapes. This allow tourists to enjoy recreation and know the way of life in Mendoza´s oasis.

The product can be combined by other outdoors activities such as hiking, trekking, bird watching, horseback riding and sulky, craft workshops, kneaded bread, etc. so that visitors stay can be more pleasant, diverse and prolonged.

Caminos de Altamira (Altamira Paths) is essentially the union of several willings that share their culture with visitoris, becoming an anthropological experiece.
